Dr Ammar Nagree – MBBS FRACP


Ammar undertook his undergraduate medical degree at Sydney University and Westmead Hospital, followed by an internship and residency at Gosford Hospital (NSW). He did his Basic Physician Training at Royal Hobart Hospital (TAS) followed by Advanced Training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Prince of Wales Hospital (NSW), obtaining full registration with the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2004. 

Upon completion of his specialist training he worked in Tanzania for 10 months, training local staff in Gastroenterology and Hepatology and setting up a new endoscopy unit. This was followed by 18 months of post fellowship training at the Royal Free Hospital, London, well recognized as an international centre of excellence in Hepatology. Following this he completed a further 18 months at St Mark’s Hospital, London, which is a leader in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy services.

In 2007 he moved to Perth and has been in working full time in his own busy solo private practice in Waikiki/Rockingham, consulting as a general Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at the Waikiki Specialist Centre and performing endoscopic procedures at Waikiki Private Hospital, establishing a reputation for willing to go to extra lengths to help his patients. He will now work at both Waikiki and Murdoch.
